Coast to Coast

I walked Wainwright’s Coast to Coast in late September and early October of 2019.  I had intended to walk it the year previous but, because of a back injury, I had delayed it.  The walk crosses 3 national parks: the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and the North York Moors.  Of those three, my favourite is the Yorkshire Dales, followed by the North York Moors, but I have now discovered that I prefer other walks I have done across these regions to this one.  I was disappointed in the Lake District; don't get me wrong - there are some spectacular views, when you have the chance to pause on the trail and take them in, but the condition of the trails, and the amount of concentration needed to navigate them, just detracted from the enjoyment for me.

Seven of my eleven days were rainy, misty and cold.  On any given day, I do enjoy (even prefer) rain, mist and cold (albeit not cold that makes me feel like I can’t warm up), but with constant wet gear and little-to-no views during most of the days, this walk did not become one of my favourites.  Still, you might be interested to hear about, &/or see the few photos (that I managed to take) of, my travels.
