Shropshire Hills 2015 Day 3
Day 3 Saturday 22nd August 2015
I headed out early with the plan to make it
all the way east to Wenlock Edge. I was
off, through fields, full of damp bracken and long grass. I was about two thirds of the way there when
my shorts and boots were so sodden and rubbing, and I got frustratedly lost in
a small property where the path just seemed to peter out and there was no way
forward other than pushing through a fence along a line of densely packed
trees.
I abandoned that plan and turned to head to
Cardington instead where I sat on a bench at the church to change into a dry
pair of socks. Then it was to the pub
for a cider.
Then I headed north west to the north end of
the Lawley. I walked the Lawley (north
to south), where I encountered a large cloud of flies at the summit.
I followed that by going over Caer Caradoc and down to the stream
where I often stash a cider. Luckily I
had done just that that morning.
It was fish ‘n’ chips again at my usual
place. Anyone would think I am stuck in
a rut.
