Holiday Imminent!
The last time I had a proper walking holiday was back in 2019, just prior to the COVID pandemic. If you are a follower of my blog, you will know I had planned a 3-month U.K. walking holiday in 2023, but had to cancel all but a 3-week stay in Shropshire due to a number of factors. One of the reasons for cancelling was a recent DDD (degenerative disc disease) diagnosis from my doctor who told me I wouldn't be able to hike any more.
However, after 5 months of targeted exercises and a training regime I have recently managed to return to the level of fitness I had in 2019. So I am now about to head off to the U.K. again for 96 days of wonderful walking.
This time I won't be announcing which walks I have planned beforehand (in case some of them don't work out) but I will say that many of them I had planned for 2023. One main difference from previous holidays is that about half of the nights I will be camping, and some of those I will be wild camping.
With 44 days left until I travel, things are getting exciting.
