Ayrshire Coastal Path 2013 Day 2
Day 2 Thursday
8th August 2013
Today we
drove to Ardrossan again and caught the ferry across to the isle of Arran.
As walking very far was out of the question, we
decided to catch the bus that circumnavigated most of the isle. I took numerous photos out of the window, but
the speed of the bus and the fact that I was shooting through a reflective
window made the results poor.
Back in
the main village of Brodick, we ate lunch, part of which was my first taste of millionaire’s
shortbread; very rich, but yum!
With
little else we could do with my bum ankle, we caught an earlier-than-planned ferry
back and went back to Galston. My leg
was beginning to swell further up – teach me to ignore the instructions of rest
and drugs – and I thought that was the end of my U.K. holiday, that I’d have to
get an early flight back to Canada. I
made some phone calls to try and change my ticket (which I’d gotten through
airmiles) but had no luck, so I thought I’d try again in the morning.
