South West Coastal Path 2015 Day 14

Monday 7th September 2015

It took a while before we were ready to get the ride back into Port Isaac.  Rob started out on the path immediately while I hung around in the village to take a few photos and get something for lunch.

Once on the trail, it was a steep climb out of the bay, past Doc Martin's house/surgery, and I soon caught up with Rob.  We mutually agreed to walk separately for the day, and said our goodbyes, even though he would still be walking tomorrow, but only as far as Trevone (I was going much further to Mawgan Porth).

One of those is Doc Martin's house (I think the one low left of the big one)

I climbed all that way up, only to have to go back down again.

The day was bright, sunny and warm, verging on hot.  The views became very summery with golden sands, swimmers, sunbathers, surfers, and sailboats.

After getting the Black Tor ferry across to Padstow, I wanted to transfer some money from my Canadian bank to my New Zealand one, and needed to make a call to do so, but I needed my tablet for the information to do it, and my luggage had not yet been delivered.  I wandered around Padstow and ran into Rob again, and helped him find some accommodation, and then I ran into Mark and Claire (who I had met in Clovelly).

I went for an early dinner and cider, and Claire arrived and chatted with me until Mark showed up and they went off for dinner.
