Pennine Way Day 14
Friday 6th September 2019 Byrness
It was about a 9 a.m. start and Robin and I
powered our way through the mostly pine forest to arrive at Byrness at 2:30. The guidebooks said there was terrible sections of bog today, but we only encountered recently laid gravel paths, so we assumed it had been covered over.
Only 2 photos today. See what happens when you are self conscious about taking photos when you have company?
We were early so we sat and drank tea until the B&B rooms were cleaned. After showering we sat with Mike & Adam, and Catherine and, her friend, Steve for drinks, along with 3 other walkers who were a stage ahead and had been bused back to spend the night here. We all chatted over dinner, then I said goodbye to Robin as he was leaving at 6 a.m., walking the last 2 sections in one day (which I might have considered had I not pre-booked accommodation here a second night).
