Lady Anne's Way 2015 Day 2
Sunday 11th October 2015
Going back to my journal for the day, I hadn’t
written much about what happened, other than that, after leaving Grassington, the first half of the day’s
walk was high fells, and the second riverside valley, so I'll leave the photos to do the talking.
I do recall coming down off the fells into
Kettlewell to find all of these odd scarecrows everywhere. I later found out they have an annual
scarecrow festival in August (I think) and I guess these had been left around
from that. I don't, however, have any photos of those.
I also recall walking above the road and river on my exit from Kettlewell, eventually to drop down and cross both to walk the rest of the way to Buckden on the west side of the river.
In Buckden I was staying at the WestWinds tearooms, where a complimentary cup of tea and slice of cake came as part of the booking. My pack had yet to arrive (I was too fast for it today), but eventually showed up. It was off to the Buck Inn for dinner, but I don’t recall what I had now almost 5 years on.
