Dales Way 2018 Day 3

Saturday 4th August 2018 Outershaw

I woke at 6:30 but snoozed until 7:15. I had had the hostel room to myself, which is always nice.  Some muesli and porridge for breakfast.  I left around 9 and found the next section of trail less remote than previously, with the road and its Saturday travel in constant view.

Much of this section until Buckden was familiar from when I walked Lady Anne's Way.

At noon I stopped beside the, now tiny, river to eat my sandwich and read for an hour as I had walked most of the day’s distance already.

My lunch spot

The B&B's gotta be here somewhere, right?

I arrived at Swarthghyll Farm at 3 and found my flat; basically, a motel unit!  Awesome, but at £60 for the night it is the most expensive overnight stay on this trip.

I relaxed for the rest of the afternoon with the ciders I had bought yesterday and the food that had been provided by my hosts (at a cost, of course).
