Dales Way 2018 Day 1
Thursday 2nd August 2018 Burnsall
After a shower and getting ready I was just sitting around when Richard told me he was leaving in 20 minutes, and he was my ride to Skipton! A rushed breakfast and then to Skipton. Once there, I waited almost an hour for a bus to Ilkley.
In Ilkley I purchased some stuff for lunch and then found the start of the Dales Way; it was already 10:45!
There seemed to be a lot of town walking for a while, but eventually that ended and it became flat riverside walking, although that soon became tedious. However, that is what I signed up for by doing the Dales Way (following 2 rivers).
Dog owners (who ignore the rules) and their dogs were numerous and annoying.
I stopped at Bolton Priory to eat my lunch. It was an interesting, albeit busy, location.
I detoured to Ap’tr’ick (as it is locally pronounced) before 4 and had a couple of ciders and an early dinner of a pulled pork sandwich. I was back in Burnsall before 5:30 for a fairly early night
