Dales High Way 2019 Day 6
Friday 9th August 2019 Ravenstonedale
After a bright and sunny day yesterday with clear views in any direction, I awoke today to the sound of rain. The skies seemed to clear a bit as I was preparing to leave, but the weather closed in again just as I made my way up the Howgills, and it remained that way for the following 2 hours or more. Consequently I could see very little and made a wrong turn while heading down the other side, which resulted in me trying to climb a steep hillside through deep undergrowth.
Due to the wetness I took only 2 photos today, but only include the better of them here.
I got to the B&B early and sat in their garden reading for a while until the owner found me and let me in. I hadn’t had a lunch today so I wandered to the Fat (Slaughtered) Lamb (that’s an American Werewolf in London reference) for a pricey but delicious Ploughman’s with 4 cheeses.
