Dales High Way 2019 Day 5
Thursday 8th August 2019 Sedburgh
Today was my “rest” day. It was another sleep with aching legs. I took few photos as I was with a group all
day. I had booked a course with Mark
Reid (who I took a course with last year just before walking the Dales Way) for
later in August in Reeth, and he had offered a few free guided day walks to
anyone taking his other courses. Luckily,
I was able to arrange my itinerary to arrive in Sedburgh the day before he
offered a Howgills Fells walk. So, today
was an opportunity to let someone else do the navigating. I met up with Mark and other fellow walkers
at a café in town. I caught a ride out
to the start of the walk, and it was a long and tiring day walking the summits of
the Howgills Fells.
We all hit a pub for a drink before everyone left, then I relocated to another pub for a cheaper dinner, and got some cider from the local Spar on the way back to the B&B.
