Cotswold Way 2014 Day 8
Tuesday 5th August 2018 Bath
It was raining when I started out and the rain
came and went throughout the day.
My socks got rather wet and I did wring them out at one point. I guess this was before I learnt to keep a spare pair in my day pack.
Progress was very rapid until Bath came into sight and then it seemed to slow down.
Just entering Bath I discovered a fair going on where I purchased some candyfloss.
Way markers disappeared from that point on, but with guidebooks in hand I found my way to Bath Abbey, and the end of the Way.
I checked into the hostel, had a shower, then wandered the streets to purchase a new waterproof jacket, at £50. After having dinner in the pub (that the hostel was part of) consisting of a burger, fries, salad and a cider, I wandered the streets of Bath again for a while before retiring for the night.
I don't normally take photos of the towns or cities I visit, as I find those kind of photos boring myself, but for some reason I made an exception in Bath. If you want to see more of the beauties of Bath (and other views) check out my epilogue as I spend another day there.
