Borders Abbeys Way 2019 Day 1
Tuesday 10th September Jedburgh to Hawick
It was a short walk today, as I left the
B&B about 9 and arrived in Hawick (unfortunately pronounced Hoyk, which
is the sound a NZer makes when clearing phlegm from their throat) before
2. I didn’t write about the trail in my
journal; I recall a lot of farmland, and potentially boggy forest, so I will
have to let the few photos do the talking.
Hawick is a depressing looking dreary place with
dirty grey buildings. I didn’t want to
stay there longer than I had to, but I had arrived early, so I hit the
Wetherspoons to kill some time and had a mid-afternoon dinner of a steak
meal. Off to the B&B to shower and shave
and then chill reading and using the internet while eating my packed lunch!
