Borders Abbeys Way 2019 Day 2

 Wednesday 11^th September Hawick to Galashiels

Today the plan was to walk to Selkirk, then catch a bus to Galashiels, then tomorrow catch the bus back and walk the Selkirk-Galashiels section.  The flaw in that plan was arriving in Selkirk before noon, so I made the decision to walk “two sections in one day” (isn’t that a Crowded House song?) thereby saving me the bus fare to Galashiels and back.  From memory I think the day consisted of some forestry walking, and a load of road walking, but it can't have been memorable anyway, as I took ONLY ONE photo of this section.

Walking on from Selkirk, I arrived in Gala (as the locals call it) around 2ish.  That was 2 day-long sections?  C’mon!!  Hit another Wetherspoons in the afternoon for a chicken burger, then hit the B&B and ate my packed lunch (second day in a row) for dinner there!
