South West Coastal Path 2015 Day 40

Friday 3^rd October 2015

I walked an alternate path back to the coast, that was suggested by the B&B owner, which meant I missed out on a short section of coastal path, including Doghouse hill.  Back on the trail, I spoke briefly with a couple I had met yesterday.  They inquired as to where I was from, so I told them New Zealand, and they responded by saying they had met an Australian the day before – they meant me, of course.  I walked through West Bay, which was the main filming location for Broadchurch.

Then I struggled along pebble covered beaches, arriving in Abbotsbury early.

 

I purchased a drink and sat on a bench to read away the rest of the afternoon, then checked into the B&B before hitting the Swan for a blue cheese and walnut pie.
