Shropshire Hills 2013 Epilogue
Post Church Stretton.
I went to London for 2 nights after leaving Church
Stretton (prior to returning to Toronto), so thought I would add what I did
there, here.
After getting off the tube at Hampstead
station, I walked a fair distance to my accommodation (some university thing
that was rented out over the summer break).
Then I wandered around, orienting myself to my memories from late 1989
and early 1990 when I lived here. I
walked along Finchley Road to Golder’s Green and then to the youth hostel I had lived in,
which have since been converted to luxury flats. I found my way to the local (where we used to
go for drinks), the Bull ‘n’ Bush, and had a pizza and drink. Sadly, that had changed considerably too.

I walked to White Hart Lane in Tottenham (yes,
you read that right – walked) to purchase some Spurs paraphernalia (some of which
were player’s merch that were sold in the weeks thereafter).
Originally my intention was to see the Spurs play
a match, but after I had organised this holiday, the match that was supposed to
be today was rescheduled for the following weekend. Likely that would have been my one chance to
see them play live. Although I still
consider myself a Spur’s fan, I haven’t seen a game in many years. I walked back to Hampstead, where I spent one
more night before flying out on the Sunday.
