South West Coastal Path 2015 Day 25
Friday 18th September 2015
It was a slow start to the day, after little
sleep from cars racing up and down the road during the night, catching the 9:45
ferry to St. Mawes and then the 10:30 ferry to Place, so the day’s walking did
not start until around 10:50.
It was a good day’s walking, with my shin holding up, only
squeaking at me once or twice during the day, but swollen by the end. I got to East Portholland at 4:30, only just
in time to get to the post office/café to buy a few items for dinner before
they closed. The woman there, Jane, offered
to cook me a pastie but said it would take an hour, so I agreed. I go to check in at the B&B and they had
dinner cooking for me also, assuming that I would want it because of the lack
of anywhere else to eat. LOL. Jane delivered the pastie, but I decided to
keep it for tomorrow. My bedroom window
looked right out over the bay.
East Portholland had recently been used as one of the filming
locations for Tim Burton’s film, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.
