Shropshire Hills 2019 Part 2 Day 2
Sunday 20th October 2019
The only walking today was from Bridges over
to Church Stretton, passing by a number of wild ponies on the top.
I then then headed once
again down Carding Mill Valley, perhaps for the last time.
In Church Stretton I spent a few hours in a
shelter (it was raining on and off) and eating a few snacks I’d bought, then I
walked up to the bunkhouse in All Stretton to sort out my pack ready for the flight
out tomorrow.
I like the Shropshire Hills so much that (as
you probably have noticed) I come here each time I am in the U.K. They are a great place for training for LDWs
and have a variety of hills and places you can go. You can walk for under an hour and have a
great time or spend all day out without seeing the same thing twice. If you read my first blog (not up at the time
of this posting) you will discover that the reason I first came to this area of
the U.K. was because of the author Malcolm Saville, who wrote several books for
teenagers set in Shropshire. I wanted to
see the places he had written about come alive, and I can honestly say, they
have.
