Shropshire 2023 Part 5
Sunday, 16th July - Tuesday, 18th July
Initially I was not motivated today, but made some sandwiches and once I had forced myself out the door, I enjoyed it. I had no real destination in mind, but first wandered directly over toward Caer Caradoc, thinking I might walk over the Lawley.
However I felt my feet/legs might not handle the ascent/descent, so I circumnavigated the north side of Caer Caradoc and then wandered over to Cardington to have lunch at the pub. The return journey was circumnavigating the south end of Caer Caradoc. I ate my sandwiches for dinner that night.
On Monday, after almost 12 hours of sleep, I headed out but once I'd taken a dozen steps or so changed my plans from walking a long walk to just going to Church Stretton for the day, as my left small toe was extremely tender when in the boots. I went back to the outdoor shop and the owner, James, stretched the leather out a bit more. I spent the afternoon in Rectory Woods park eating lunch and reading. More cider and fish 'n' chips, but this time I sat on a bench in the churchyard to consume it before returning to the bunkhouse.
Tuesday was a non-event, nursing my tender toe, avoiding some rainy weather, doing laundry, and reading.
