Pennine Way Day 3

Friday 23rd August 2019 Haworth

As there was no breakfast provided by the hostel, I was away around 7:15.  I still had yesterday’s lunch, so I ate that during the walking today.

This gnome leapt out of nowhere and scared the hell out of me

I finally walk through Bronte scenery, that I had skipped when visiting Haworth earlier in the month, and see the building they say inspired Wuthering Heights.

I had calculated today’s distance at 30.6km of actual trail (from those same online sources as yesterday's) but I’d only done 21.7km (including getting back to the trail from the hostel) when I reached the point where I had to leave the Pennine Way to walk down to Haworth.  I had made these calculations numerous times, so think the websites that I used were incorrect.

However, it was an extra 6km into Haworth, but even with that additional distance and purchasing some cider and snacks on my way I still arrived at the hostel in Haworth at 2 p.m.

I sat out the back of the hostel and read and snacked until it opened.  Then it was a shower, laundry, doing nothing, and dinner at the hostel.
