Ayrshire Coastal Path 2013 Day 5

Day 5 Sunday 11th August 2013

My accommodation for this night was in the small village of Pinwherry.  As to why I had chosen Pinwherry as a logical place to stay is beyond me now (it was over 6 years ago, as I write this, that I was there).  As I still was unsure about walking for an entire day, and the fact there really was not a path (other than a somewhat treacherous main road) between Turnberry and Pinwherry, the Turnberry BnB owner drove me to my next accommodation in Pinwherry.  As I knew I would soon no longer be in a situation where I could avoid walking long distances every day, I decided to do as the doctors ordered, and rest.  I spent the day reading in the lounge at the BnB, broken only by a short walk up the road to see Pinwherry Castle.

The BnB hosts kindly invited me to eat with them (as there was no local place for dinner).  Thus, my disrupted, and mostly cancelled, Ayrshire Coastal walk fizzled to an end that was neither on the coast, nor near either end of the walk.  Oh well, as luck would have it, my ankle was actually healed, and two days later I would be beginning my next LDW, the Ridgeway, which I actually did finish end to end!
