South West Coastal Path 2015 Day 33

Saturday 26th September 2015

I missed a 9 o’clock ferry, so waited an extra half hour for the next one.  I had no packed lunch today as the B&B owner had forgotten I had requested one.  It was a long, slow slog to Stoke Fleming.

I had a few humorous thoughts as I walked:
- Everyone says “morning” as the greeting no matter what time of day it is
- After walking a deserted path for two hours, then coming across a man wearing jandals and his son wearing crocs, and I greet them to receive only a frosty stare in return, and then to crest the next rise to see hundreds of day trippers (near Start Point)
- Upon seeing paragliders up in the air and wondering what they do if they need to go to the toilet while up there, whether they check below for walkers before letting loose, or whether or not they give a crap!

At Start Point I briefly met a sunglasses-wearing woman who was walking her wheel-chaired grandmother along, but the woman looked the spitting image of Anne Hathaway.  Can I now say I’ve met Anne Hathaway?

Arrived at the B&B in Stoke Fleming at 4, but had to wait an hour for the owners to arrive.  Another pub for dinner.
